Peace of mind

I come here very often. When the world around us seems to be moving so fast, the lake reminds me of how simple life can be.  As time stops for no one, it gives a perspective of how precious life truly is.   Nature is beautiful, and makes me realize the little things in life can bring you happiness.

  1. This is such a nice photo! As a nature lover myself I can really appreciate this picture and I agree that taking time to relax at your favorite lake, or any sight, can give you a whole new perspective. Sometimes it’s all we need to find answers we thought we’d never find.

  2. It is great that you found such a place to relax yourself. I think sometimes thinking is also important as doing. If we keep accelerating our pace, we may lose ourselves and the meaning of everything that we are doing.

  3. It is so relaxing and almost necessary for survival to have a place in nature where one can retreat. I live close enough to the beach where I can visit it every day if only for just a few minutes, and I have always been very grateful for that. I also find that not only nature but bodies of water are really great places for escape, perhaps because of the vast and seemingly limitless possibilities of seas and rivers. This is especially felt when you can’t see land across from the shore. I also think of this quote from “Moby Dick” by Herman Melville often. I find it incredibly relatable. “Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off – then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.”

  4. Your caption makes this simple picture provoke a very powerful message. My picture and caption are very similar to the idea you’re portraying. Great job and keep spreading that message!

  5. I love this idea to represent what you think is important. I think it’s important for everyone to break away from work, technology, and people every once in a while to enjoy solitude and nature. I love to go on walks and find places like this where I can get a new perspective. It’s very refreshing! I envy your spot because it has been a while since I’ve been able to experience any ‘real’ nature!
