“Can’t You Feel Our Days Are Numbered?”

“Humanity’s a failed experiment
Walking the path to extinction
Spinning its wheels endlessly
Grease them with oil and uranium”

– “Reclamation” by Lamb of God

This is the view of Livingston campus from my floor lounge window. It looks great, but not all the details are shown here.

“The way we live, we will destroy
Every other living thing
Till none are left except our race
And then we will destroy ourselves”

– “Critical Mass” by Nuclear Assault

Greenery like this is becoming less and less common with more pollution filling our ecosystem.

A few small bushes outside of my residence hall sit in a semicircle.

A beautiful tall tree outside brightens the surroundings of the Lynton South Tower.

“Only after the last tree’s cut, and the last river poisoned, only after the last fish is caught, will you find that money can’t be eaten.” – “Reclamation” by Lamb of God

Litter like this may seem small and insignificant, but it adds up and makes for an unhealthy and unclean environment.

Cigarettes belong inside the receptacle, not on the ground around it.

Approximately 150 – 200 species of insects, plants, birds, and mammals go extinct every day.

If the environment continues at this rate, where will birds like this one and other small animals reside?

“Endangered species, caged in fright,
Shot in cold blood, no chance to fight.
The stage is set, now pay the price.
An ego boost, don’t think twice.
Technology, the battle’s unfair,
You pull the hammer without a care.
Squeeze the trigger that makes you Man”

– “Countdown to Extinction” by Megadeth

Smog is released into the atmosphere, polluting the air that we all breathe.

Over 214,000 acres of trees are cut down every day. Construction of man made structures is the reason for most of this.

“What will you tell your children when they ask you ‘What went wrong?’ How can you paint a picture of a paradise lost to eyes that know only a wasteland?” – “Dark Days” by Parkway Drive

At the end of the day, every little difference can help. If everyone thinks alike and does their part to reduce waste, the world will be just a little cleaner.

  1. I completely agree with every single one of your pictures. I too feel that we are destroying our environment, and I hate when people just throw cigarette butts on the ground instead of the trash receptacles made SPECIFICALLY for them. We should do everything we can to respect our second mother, nature. Interestingly, I lived in Lynton South towers last year, is that where you currently live?

    1. I currently live in the North Tower. I like Livingston as everything is quite easy to get to and within short walking distance.
